(I) ERASURE FROM THE REGISTER
IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CLAUSE 6.09 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE INSTITUTION OF THE
ENGINEERS OF KENYA, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL CLASSES OF MEMBERS WHOSE
ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION OR INSTALLMENT OF ENTRANCE FEES IS IN ARREARS FOR TWO
OR MORE YEARS THAT:
THEY SHALL BE EXCLUDED FROM THE INSTITUTION AND SHALL THEREUPON CEASE TO
BE MEMBERS AND THEIR NAMES ERASED FROM THE REGISTER.
The amount of arrears can be obtained
from the IEK Secretariat through telephone numbers 2716922, 2729326 or
via e-mail: iek@iekenya.org.
(II) CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT (PROD)
The Council
has created guidelines on the criteria for sustained membership to the
IEK. The guidelines are based on aggregate points acquired by members
through participation in activities of IEK, the main objective of the IEK
activities being, to improve the skills and knowledge of the practice of
engineering through an approach focused on the following.
Organizational
strategy and individual needs
·
Human resource management
·
On-the-job-development (OJD)
and skills development in addition to knowledge based on training.
·
Social and ethical
responsibility.
The purpose
of the aggregate point criteria for PROD is to set objective evaluation criteria
for members wishing to remain in the register.
Aggregate
points will be gained from any of the activities as listed below.

Criteria for aggregate points (CAP)
will be used for assessing members for the following purposes;
·
Nominations to the ERB.
·
Nomination or Election to the
IEK Council.
·
Transfer of Class of
Membership.
·
IEK nominations to Statutory Organisations.
Those not
attaining a minimum of 20 aggregate points in the year will suffer the
following.
·
deletion from the membership
of IEK.
·
deletion from the register of
the ERB.
·
cancellation of the license to
practice as an engineer.
·
loss of appointment to a
position requiring a Registered Engineer.
